With a strong presence in Australia and expanding in the UK, we are seeking a talented and passionate Traveling Events Coordinator to join our team. Position Overview:

The Travelling Event Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing operational aspects of Fashion Thrift Society events, including setup, execution and pack-down. This role requires travel on weekends (Saturday and Sundays) to various event locations, with event setup the day before and coordinating the event on the day. Additionally, the Coordinator will spend two days per week in the Footscray office for pre-event preparations and administrative tasks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute event setup, including bump-in and pack-down activities.
  • Participate in operational roles during events, ensuring smooth execution and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Engage with event attendees, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries or concerns.
  • Enforce direction and action among event staff and vendors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of events during office days, including logistics coordination, vendor communication and administrative tasks.

 

Requirements:

  • Melbourne-based with the ability to work from the Footscray office.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with loud crowds and enforce direction effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a proactive approach to addressing attendee needs.
  • Previous experience in event coordination, preferably with large-scale events.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
  • Outgoing personality with a confident and authoritative demeanour.
  • Flexibility to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and occasional weekdays for pre-event preparations.
  • Willingness to travel to event locations, with all travel expenses covered.
  • Must be available for a 3-month probation period to assess suitability for the role.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time position (4 days per week)
  • Weekend travel required (Saturday and Sunday) for event coordination
  • Two days per week in the Footscray office for pre-event preparations
  • Roster may vary (Wed-Sat or Thurs-Sun) based on event schedule and market dates.
